RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS (R.C.I.A.): The process of becoming a Catholic Christian for an adult preparing for Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist is called the R.C.I.A. This faith process is held on Wednesdays, 7 p.m. in the classroom of the rectory AND at the 10 A.M. Sunday Mass. Our Wednesday sessions will resume on August 30th. When an adult Catholic has not received the sacrament of Confirmation, that person is not a fully initiated Catholic Christian- the R.C.I.A. process is the means for preparing them as well. The R.C.I.A. process includes discovering our God in the Hebrew Bible and Christian Scriptures (Old and New Testaments), in our own personal life story, learning to pray, being introduced to some of the history of the Church, learning about the Sacraments from a faith perspective and sharing this journey with others who are seeking God.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please let Fr. Joe know or call him at 541-1563.

Please pray for those who will join us.

R.C.I.A. (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults): Some years ago, at another Parish, Deacon Ted asked a man if he ever considered becoming a Catholic. "Sure. But no one ever asked me." Ted said, "I’m asking " and the man started the R.C.I.A. process and was baptized at the Easter Vigil.

Considering only the past two years at St. Boniface – seven of the thirteen people who were received into the Church were already worshipping with us on a pretty regular basis. When Fr. Joe or another parishioner invited them to start the process of becoming a member, they responded favorably.

Have you noticed someone who might be asked to join the Church? Pray for the person, then gently ask/invite him/her to consider the possibility. God will give you the right words for inviting the person to consider the Catholic way of life. St. John tells us in his Gospel that John the Baptist led Andrew and John to Jesus. Then Andrew invited his brother Simon Peter to meet Jesus. (John 1:35-42) This was the way the Church grew back then. It’s the same way now.
