ST. BONIFACE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MINUTES – MARCH 27, 2008
The meeting was opened at 7:00 p.m. For faith formation, Carol Roosa spoke about ethics is parish leadership roles and what is expected of Parish Pastoral Council members. Council members expressed the opinion that we should always promote Jesus Christ in all that we do, should always do the right thing, and should do things for the good of others. Other comments were that we should always be forthright in our reporting; should always treat others with respect and that we should avoid gossip and slander.
Roll call was taken. Members Present: Father Joe, Tim Banish, Lisa Biedenbach, Bob Frerick, Mike Grause, Tom LeSaint, Amy Porta, Scott Rice, Henry Wesseler, Rosemary Welz. Carol Roosa was also present.
The minutes of the January 24 meeting were approved as published.
Old Business:
Spiritual Book Club -- Lisa Biedenbach reported that 20 people attended the book club discussion on March 16. The attendees ranged in age from 30’s to 80’s and had a variety of reasons for wanting to participate in the club. The meeting consisted of a discussion of the book by the club members and a discussion with the author by telephone. There have been a total of 27 people who expressed interest in the club. Lisa feels that there will probably be 15-20 people at the next meeting.
Parish Council Elections -- Parish Pastoral Council elections will be the weekend of May 17-18. So far Dave Bracken, Lisa Biedenbach, Kathie Fahey, Beth Kessler, Amy Kelm, Jim Kuhn, and Donna Lipps have volunteered to run for election. The nominating committee would like to get a few more candidates. Anyone interested in running for Council should contact the rectory.
CPR Classes -- Carol Roosa is still looking into this. Scott Rice said that his cousin is a certified CPR instructor and would be willing to conduct the classes. Scott will find out what the charge will be.
For the Good of the Parish:

Four people were received into the Church at the Easter Vigil Liturgy. · New cruets have been ordered for the Holy Oils. The cruets will be kept on a shelf that will be installed above the baptismal font. · A new banister was installed on the ramp to the cry room. The cost was approximately $1,400.00. · Confirmation will be Sunday, April 13, at the 12:00 noon Mass. Father thinks that the work will be completed in the next few weeks. · The parish reached our Catholic Ministries Appeal goal of $15,000.00 with pledges and donations. · The parish will hold a White Elephant Sale in June. Anyone wishing to help with the sale should contact the rectory. · Amy Porta reported that a parishioner asked her to inquire about the possibility of having bells at Mass during the Consecration. Father Joe replied that he was not in favor of this since he finds it distracting.
The next meeting will be May 22. The meeting was closed at 7:30 p.m. with prayer by Father Joe.
